Townsville Water Main Replacement

Newlands were contracted by Townsville City Council to replace several sections of water main in the Townsville suburbs of Hermit Park, Hyde Park, and Railway Estate as part of continuing water infrastructure upgrade works. The scope of works included the supply, installation, pressure testing and chlorination of approximately 785m x DN250 M-PVC pipe and 285m x DN560 HDPE pipe using both open-trenched and trenchless installation techniques. The project also included stakeholder, environmental and traffic management, road restoration as well as revegetation works and the reinstatement of landscaping areas. This project was completed in a 5 month timeframe.
