Toowoomba Second Range Crossing

Newlands was contracted to install, test, and commission the replacement trunk water main infrastructure for Toowoomba Regional Council, which required relocation of the pipeline as part of the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing project. This vital infrastructure serves as the primary water supply line for Toowoomba City and surrounding areas.

The scope of work included the installation of OD1283 MSCL welded pipework (634 meters underground, 108 meters on a new bridge) and OD559 MSCL welded pipework (370 meters underground, 103 meters on a new bridge), complete with bends, valves, fittings, and expansion joints. Additionally, the project involved the construction of four large valve chambers, each with a volume of 150m³.

The project was completed in a 9-month time frame.
