Margaret Street Offices

Newlands were contracted by DSP Investments to construct a three-story building at 131 Margaret Street, Toowoomba, located within the heritage streetscape of the city’s CBD. The project included a two-level office block with a basement carpark, modern amenities, a lift and an automatic gate, totaling approximately 1,900m² of floor space, including the basement. The construction used tilt panels and Newlands also completed the full fit-out of all amenities and an office tenancy within the building contract.

The project involved several significant challenges which included:

•constructing the new building on a very limited access site with construction access only available from the rear of the site so that pedestrian access could be maintained along Margaret Street;

•constant stakeholder management with Council, property owners, business owners, etc;

•undertaking road closures to provide construction access for cranes, concrete pumps, deliveries and to provide a safe work environment for work crews;

This project exemplifies our ability to construct projects on limited access sites to a high level of both safety and quality.

The project was completed in a 9 month time frame.
