Glenvale Christian School GLA

Newlands Group were contracted by Glenvale Christian School to construct a two-storey building, which included two classrooms on the lower floor, each with a capacity for 20 students and an assembly area on the top floor, capable of accommodating 150 students, along with a large storage room. An advanced communications system was also installed, designed to integrate seamlessly with the school’s existing infrastructure, eliminating the need for a completely new system.

The building featured multiple access points from the main campus, including wide concrete pathways connecting the new building to the main school area. A suspended concrete bridge was incorporated to provide disability-friendly access to the upper floor.

To meet the school’s budget constraints, Newlands re-designed the civil works to achieve significant savings by eliminating a large section of retaining wall. The build process was efficient, with minimal site preparation required and the blockwork proving to be an easy medium to work with. The exterior colours and feature batten screening were carefully chosen to stimulate learning while complementing the school’s existing colour scheme.

Throughout the project, the Newlands team worked closely with the school faculty and the Superintendent to ensure successful delivery of the project, meeting both the school’s requirements and budget.
