Lime and East Streets Water Main Installation

Newlands Group were contracted to design and construct 925m of 180mm OD PE PN16 water mains within the town of Clermont QLD, replacing existing water mains along Lime and East Streets.  The project included new hydrants, valves, and house service connections.

The water mains were constructed using open trenches with pipes bedded and surrounded with crusher dust. In addition, the project involved the installation of an underbore to the Department of Transport and Main Road’s (TMR) specifications, including the water main crosses, the supply of bedding material, pipes, valves, and fittings as well as house service connections and reinstatement of the road surface and surrounds.

Traffic control measures were implemented throughout the 4-month duration of this project.
