LifeFlight Roma Hangar
Construction of the new LifeFlight Roma Base
Newlands were contracted by LifeFlight in their mission to provide essential aeromedical services to the Maranoa region and beyond. The construction of the new LifeFlight Roma Base, designed to address functional and operational challenges while meeting the increasing demand for lifesaving rescue services in the region. This upgrade encompasses the development of a purpose-built facility at Roma Airport, specifically tailored to the aviation, clinical, and administrative needs of the service.
The project scope encompassed the construction of a new hanger to accommodate the AW139 aircraft and serve as the home for the LifeFlight Surat Gas Aeromedical Service (SGAS) Chopper and its dedicated crew plus additional space for on-site engineering and maintenance. Additional to the hanger, accommodation, administration, training, and storage facilities were constructed to meet the needs of the expanding service. These enhancements will optimise fleet movement and ensure the crew can depart smoothly and swiftly when responding to emergencies.
The project’s completion further strengthens the region’s aeromedical capabilities and highlights Newlands Group’s commitment to delivering infrastructure solutions that serve the needs of critical emergency services.
