Clifton State High School Hall Extension & Equine Facility

Newlands Group were contracted to enhance the facilities at Clifton State High School, with a focus on enclosing an existing undercover sports area and upgrading the equine facility. The objective of the project was to improve the school’s curriculum delivery and create two flexible spaces for community events.

The enclosure of the sports facility required close collaboration between the project management firm and school representatives to ensure optimal outcomes. The scope of work included the addition of a classroom, stage, eatery/serving area, AV room, amenities and multiple storerooms. A key challenge involved floor levelling, as the existing slab had been designed with falls to facilitate water runoff. Modifying the slab was essential to create suitable surface for indoor sports activities.

Additionally, Newlands undertook the relocation of a swale drain and constructed a new road base driveway to improve access to the equine facility. Upgrades to the equine area included the installation of a specialised base, undercover seating and mounting stables, which significantly enhanced the school’s agricultural curriculum and cocurricular activities.

The project was successfully completed within a 10 month timeframe.
