Clifton State High School Hall Extension & Equine Facility
Enhancement to school facilities
Newlands was contracted for the enhancement of Clifton State High School’s facilities, specifically the enclosure of an existing undercover sports area and the upgrade of the equine facility. This project was designed to bolster the school’s curriculum delivery and create two versatile spaces for community events.
The enclosure of the sports facility required close collaboration with the project management firm and school representatives to ensure optimal outcomes. The project included the addition of a classroom, stage, eatery/serving area, AV room, amenities, and multiple storerooms. A critical aspect of this endeavour was floor levelling, as the existing slab was originally designed with falls to facilitate water runoff. It was essential to modify the slab to create a suitable surface for indoor sports activities.
Additionally, Newlands undertook the relocation of a swale drain and constructed a new road base driveway to improve access to the equine facility. The upgrades to the equine area included the installation of a specialized base, undercover seating, and mounting stables, enhancing the school’s agricultural curriculum and cocurricular activities.
This project was completed in a 10-month time frame.
