Barcaldine Recreation Park
Recreation water-skiing park in Barcaldine
Newlands were contracted to create the Barcaldine Recreation Park, featuring a sprawling 1.1km recreational water activity lake meeting Australian and International Water-skiing standards. Complete with a central island and a designated fish breeding area. With a strong commitment to environmental preservation, we employed precise cutting methods and implemented stringent controls to ensure the protection of the parallel river, as well as the native flora and fauna.
Throughout the project, Newlands successfully executed various essential tasks. These included the clearing and grubbing of a substantial area spanning 281,352m3, precise cutting to soil amounting to 181,921m3, and precise cutting to fill reaching 177,790m3. To ensure the long-term durability of the park, we also incorporated 2,853m3 of rock protection.
This project was completed in a 5-month time frame.
