ALDI Dalby

This project was a two part project consisting of the demolition of five existing houses including the removal of some asbestos containing material. Newlands Group then constructed a new ALDI building. This project design was the first in Queensland of ALDI’s new ALDI Fresh format, incorporating new building materials and finishes not seen in other ALDI stores at the time. The project also had the challenge of highly reactive soil conditions. The structural design had used a cardboard void former to construct a suspended slab and large supporting bored piers.
