About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Estimator to lead the preparation, pricing, and submission of tenders across a broad range of civil projects. This role can be based in Toowoomba, Brisbane, or the Sunshine Coast. As a key part of our pre‑contracts team, you will take ownership of estimates, influence project outcomes from the outset, and collaborate closely with delivery teams to ensure accuracy, constructability, and strong commercial performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and pricing of detailed tenders for civil construction projects
- Review and interpret tender documentation, drawings, scopes of work, and contracts
- Identify project risks, opportunities, and value engineering options
- Develop accurate construction methodologies in collaboration with project delivery teams
- Build strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors through effective engagement and negotiation
- Mentor junior estimators and contribute to continuous improvement of estimating systems and processes
About You
You are a commercially astute civil construction professional who takes ownership of estimates and drives positive project outcomes. You bring a proactive mindset, strong technical capability, and a collaborative approach to pre‑contracts work.
Ideally, you will have:

- 5+ years experience in civil estimating, particularly in subdivisions, bulk earthworks, or infrastructure projects
- The ability to interpret plans and scope documentation and price from first principles
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to engage with stakeholders at all levels
- Proficiency in estimating and take-off software such as Benchmark, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project or similar
- A solutions-focused mindset with the ability to propose alternative methods and cost-saving opportunities
- Previous experience mentoring junior team members (highly regarded)
