About the role:
You will work alongside the Project Manager to oversee the daily operations of Newlands commercial construction projects, working closely with the project teams to ensure the project is completed on time, within budget and to the highest safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Commercial Construction Manager, you will be required to:
- Manage and oversee all stages of the construction project lifecycle, from site preparation through to project completion.
- Provide strong leadership and guidance to subcontractors, fostering teamwork and accountability.
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and quality checks, and ensure that any defects or non-conformances are rectified.
- Ensure Performance Targets are achieved.
- Demonstrate effective communication with stakeholders, including subcontractors and clients.
- Ensure the safety and quality standards are met and maintained
What you’ll need:
The successful candidate will have:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction.
- QBCC Open Supervisors Licence.
- Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent qualification.
- General Construction Induction Card (Blue Card) or Work Safely in Construction Industry (White Card) is essential.
- In-depth knowledge of commercial construction principles, standards, and best practices.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong and effective relationships with external stakeholders and suppliers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with other team members, clients and subcontractors.
- A positive and enthusiastic attitude
